Bethard Introduction

As a relative newcomer to the online sportsbook market, Bethard has come a long way fast to make an impression on punters across Europe. Launched in 2014 and licensed out of EU member state Malta, Bethard offers not only a sportsbook with live betting but also casino gambling.

Bethard actually began as an online casino only, focusing almost exclusively on the Scandinavian market, before launching their sportsbook targeting both European and Asian markets.

Site design and user interface

The Scandinavian influence behind the design is immediately apparent, not only thanks to the crisp, blog like feel of the sportsbook landing page, but also of the black and gold colour scheme.

Once we jumped into the site, our initial impression was solidly positive. The layout was easy to navigate, with crystal clear graphics that, given the quality of the site, were remarkably fast to load, again another benefit of using a Scandinavian design team clearly well versed in deploying a lot of effective information in a super easy to use minimalist style.

Colourful icons on the site’s left side bar provided quick links to different leagues, with a bet search function, live betting and a complete list of sports below that. While this is pretty much the industry standard, we liked the bet search function and the excellent quality of the graphics, which made the whole site easy on the eyes.

The centre plane slider offered up a combination of adverts for hot up coming matches and special worthwhile offers. Beneath that a betting highlights section served up a list of matches with times, and live odds. A little further down you can find the live betting section.

The right-side bar gives you a match tracker, a feature which we haven’t seen a lot of elsewhere and appreciated, with the betting slip below that and a live chat button on the bottom.

Mobile app

We were definitely impressed with the Bethard mobile app. The influence of Scandinavian design was obvious as the design was crisp, clean and downright elegant, with the landing page actually resembling a top notch mobile blog.

Ongoing games with excellent graphics were in a slider at the top, and we were surprised to see the search feature so prominent, with a slider menu below by sport. Sleek and fast loading with intuitive navigation, the Bethard mobile app was a winner.

Betting options

With a solidly comprehensive list of sports to bet on and competitive odds, we were rather satisfied with Bethard’s overall betting offer. A full range of betting options were available including over/under, first/last, and fun stuff such as total corners, first and last free kick, handicap and many more were also thrown into the mix.

One thing that they excel at is their Asian View, hands down one of the best around. The sheer range of sports available to bet on, from classics like the Champions League and Premier League all the way to badminton, netball, sailing and even e-sports, was also a definite plus.

While in many respects a work in progress due to the fact that Bethard is so new to the market, the sportsbook’s makers have put significant time and effort into ensuring the user experience, odds and range of possible wagers, among so many other things, are conducive to having a reliable and enjoyable wagering experience. For punters keen on excellent welcome bonuses combined with superior design and graphics, Bethard is a thumbs up.
