We know that online betting can seem a daunting prospect, especially with the number of markets on offer and the array of sports and events that are covered. Our betting guides can walk you through the basics of having a punt, how to get started and introduce you to some distinctive types of bet that you might like to try.
We will also clearly explain what everything means and how to work out the best odds to win the most money. If you wanted to bet on a football team to win a game and a bookie was offering odds of 6/4 for them to win; our betting guides will clarify what 6/4 means?
Betting can be as simple or intricate as you wish to make it, with a host of various bets available. For example, one of the most common types of wager that is made, especially by beginners, is a ‘Single’ bet. It is a simple bet on 1 selection in one event and that selection must win to return some money. If you are feeling more adventurous, you can place a ‘Double’ bet, which consists of picking 2 selections in different events to make up one bet. Both your selections must be successful, but by doubling your number of selections, you are also increasing your odds and therefore the amount of money or returns that you can win.
A ‘Treble’ bet follows the same principle, with 3 selections in different events making one bet and all 3 selections having to be successful for the bet to win. If you decide to choose 4 selections in different events, this is known as a ‘Four-Fold Accumulator’. Again, all 4 selections must be successful for the bet to win.
There is no limit on the number of selections you can choose in different events to make up any size accumulator. However, most bookmakers will have a limit on the maximum return that they are willing to pay out.
Please read through our betting guides and we will describe some of the more multifaceted bets that are also available, which can return you money even when some of your multiple selections are not successful.
There are ‘Trixie’ bets, which consist of 4 bets from three selections in different events, Patent bets, made up of 7 selections and a Lucky 15, which is 15 separate bets of 4 selections in different events.
Other bets covered in our betting guides include the Canadian, Lucky 31, Heinz, Lucky 63, Super Heinz and the Goliath, which consists of a whopping 247 bets on eight selections in different events.
The world of betting is nothing to be afraid of and can be a really enjoyable hobby. We hope our guides can help you to see how much fun can be had.
